Granny’s Potatoes!



foodThis is a recipe I have actually never made, but my Granny makes them when I go over and I LOVE them! They are homemade au gratin potatoes and I can eat them by the bucket load.

The last time she made them sadly I was not there, but my mom was awesome enough to snap some pics and get some information for me to pass along to all the readers.

What you will need:

3 Potatoes sliced

Sliced American Cheese

Salt & Pepper

1/4 Cup of Milk


What to do with it:

Slice potatoes and grease a 9×9 pan. Put a layer of potatoes down, then tear up 2 slices of cheese and put on the potatoes. Sprinkle with salt and pepper. Add spoonful of butter and add the next layer of potatoes.

REPEAT THIS UNTIL PAN IS MOSTLY FULL. Lastly, add the 1/4 cup of milk. Then you are ready to cook!

Next, put in the microwave (my Grandmother has a convection microwave so it may be more or less cooking time depending on the wattage. you want potatoes to be tender) for about 20-25 minutes, cover with press and seal or Glad wrap.

If you want to  do this  in an oven, cover with foil and set oven at 350 for about 40-45 minutes. Checking at least once.

When removing them check to see if potatoes are tender, if not cook a little longer.

Take out and serve!

I love potatoes and the way my Granny does these is probably one of my most favorites!
